Description

Spherical body, laterally curved J-handle with palmette decoration and short, curved animal head spout. On both sides of the wall, there is a large Watteau scene with pilgrims or peasant couple in a landscape with trees, alternating with flowering branches. The flat, raised lid with Pierrot depiction. Purple camaieu painting with surrounding gold lace border and staffage. Maker's mark for J.C. Haase (Haße) (active from 1732). Gold number 93. Sword mark. Height 11 cm. See Rücker, Biographical Data, p. 110, 139. A small porcelain tea jug with Wattaeu scenes painted in purple camaieu. Former's signature. Gold number 93. Crossed swords mark. Meissen. Around 1732-1739.
