Description

Rectangular body with offset, rounded shoulder and short, cylindrical neck. Overlapping lid with centrally placed plastic flower knob. Show and reverse side Watteau scene with figures in conversation in front of rich, architecturally structured landscape backdrop. The narrow sides with harbor landscape, sailboats and figure staffage. Small scattered flowers on the shoulder. Corresponding decoration on the lid. Polychrome painting with iron red double line. Sword mark. Height 13 cm. A porcelain tea caddy with Teniers scenes. Crossed swords mark. Meissen. Circa 1745.
