Model number V125. This model has been produced since 1908 with painting in different shades. The "Bear" statuette captures the character of the animal and is executed with attention to detail. Erich Hösel was a renowned German animal sculptor. He began his education in 1886 at the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts. From 1903 until his retirement in 1929, Erich Hösel worked at the Meisse Manufacture and in 1912 he became the head of the design department. In the period from 1904 to 1918 alone, he created about 100 sculptural models. His works were characterized by a special realism and attention to detail. Each statuette was made with particular care and knowledge of the habits, life, and character of the animal. Animal figures were mainly made of white porcelain with traditional realistic painting. He acquired the necessary observations during familiarization trips to countries in Africa and the Middle East, as well as through regular visits to zoos throughout Europe. Condition: excellent preservation, without restoration or damages, dated 1950, Meisse mark, size 8 cm width * 20.5 cm height * 7 cm length, porcelain material, condition without defects or restorations.
