Meissen handle tray with Klinger flower painting.

Oval shape with a wavy curved edge. Side-mounted, gold-ornamented volute handles. Relief decoration "Altrozier". In the recessed mirror, a large so-called woodcut flower surrounded by shaded insects and scattered flowers. Corresponding flower and insect decoration on the flag and outer wall. Polychrome painting, likely by Johann Gottfried Klinger (active 1726-1746). Gold rim. Sword mark. Height 8 cm. 40 cm x 29 cm. See Jedding, p. 143, Pauzarek, Meissen Porcelain Painting, fig. 10f; Pietzsch, Wark Collection, no. 502ff. A two-handled serving dish painted with "woodcut flowers" and shaded insects, probably by J. G. Klinger. Crossed swords mark. Meissen. Circa 1740-1745.
