A shepherd with cows and sheep in the evening light, evoking associations with the circle of the significant Belgian animal artist Eugène Verboeckhoven (1798–1881), who influenced the art of his time with his own works featuring precise observations of nature and vivid depictions of animals, as well as through his students.
