Philipp Peter Roos, also known as Rosa da Tivoli.

(1657 Frankfurt am Main - 1706 Rome) Surrounded by a Shepherd Couple with Their Flock, Roos, who almost never signed his works, primarily depicted lively goats and sheep, as well as shepherds in rough Campagna landscapes. Characteristic of his compositions is that Roos places the animals in the foreground, allowing them to dominate the world of the Campagna. Roos, who arrived in Rome in 1677 and later in Tivoli, achieved European fame for his captivating animal depictions in the late Baroque period and became part of many significant collections. Oil on oak wood panel. 16.7 cm x 25.3 cm. Framed. Circle of Philipp Peter Roos, known as Rosa da Tivoli (1657 - 1706). Oil on oak wood panel.
