(1851 Bietigheim/Württemberg - 1917 Karlsruhe) Surrounding fishermen in the atmospheric staged Venetian veduta, bustling with numerous fishermen and their boats. The subject is executed in the manner of the Karlsruhe painter Gustav Schönleber and could be by one of his many students at the Grand Ducal Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe, where Schönleber taught from 1880 to 1917. Oil on canvas; indistinctly inscribed, signed and dated; 64.5 cm x 84.3 cm. Framed.
