(1861 Copenhagen - 1900 ibid) Coastal landscape with sailing ships. Characteristic of the Danish school of painting, this landscape exudes a bright atmosphere dominated by shades of blue. From 1884 onwards, Jerichau began depicting landscapes with Italian motifs. He spent most of his life abroad, primarily in Italy, but also in southern Russia and Asia, including a year in India (1893/94). Most of his Danish landscapes date back to the years 1885 and 1886, when he lived near Hørsholm. Oil on canvas; signed and indistinctly dated 188(...?). 30 cm x 52 cm. Framed.
