Description

On a high, with plastic leaf and flower vines, sitting on a rocky pedestal, is a half-dressed Venus with a white, gold-embroidered cloth. Nestled beside her is a standing, winged Cupid with a quiver, his wings gilded. Opposite them is a cooing pair of doves, symbolizing love. Polychrome painting. Possibly by Peter Reinicke, around 1747. Insignificant restoration; minor damage; crossed sword mark. Height 18.5 cm.
