Description

Profiled round socle with naturalistic terrain. On a tree stump, a sitting Neapolitan boy in traditional clothing, playing the lute, over his discarded jacket. Polychrome painting with gold staffage. Possibly by Herst, around 1880. Model number L 138. Some minor restorations; crossed swords mark. Height 20.5 cm. Provenance: From the estate of a significant North German private collection. A porcelain figure of a Neapolitan boy. Insignificantly restored. Crossed swords mark. Meissen, around 1900.
