

(1821 – 1881, Vöslau) Landscape with a distinguished company on a parforce hunt in front of a castle. A rare motif by the versatile landscape and marine painter. Pyttners undertook extensive research trips, which led him, among other places, to Hungary, the Netherlands, and Italy. In addition, from 1851 to 1853, he traveled through North and South America, as well as the Caribbean. He mainly worked in Vienna, but in 1869 he moved to Vöslau. Since 1842, Pyttners regularly participated in exhibitions of the Vienna Academy, and in 1861 became a member of the Vienna Artists’ House. Oil on canvas, relined. Signed and dated 1857.
