A shepherd with cows and sheep in the evening light, an evocative piece from the circle of the prominent Belgian animal painter Eugene Verboeckhoven (1798-1881), who influenced the art of his time through his own works featuring precise observations of nature and vivid depictions of animals, as well as through his students.
