(1817 Saint-Jean-d'Angély – 1893 Melle) Landscape, influenced by the Barbizon school, is an impressive painting by an artist whose oeuvre primarily spans genre scenes. Brillouin studied at the Paris School of Fine Arts from 1840 and made his debut at the Salon in 1843, where he subsequently exhibited frequently. Oil on wood panel. The verso bears a certificate of authenticity written by the artist's granddaughter. 26.2 cm x 36 cm. Framed.
