(Active in 1828) Portrait of Clotilde, Countess Reichsgräfin von Willich und Lottum, née Countess zu Putbus. A very finely crafted, artificially and historically significant Biedermeier portrait of the countess, seated in a classic salon of a neoclassical palace. Oil on card. On the reverse, there is a note "Lottum". 37 cm x 31 cm. Framed. Clotilde, daughter of Wilhelm Malte I, Prince of Putbus, married Friedrich von Willich und Lottum in 1828, whose son became Wilhelm Malte II, Prince of Putbus, in 1854. In 1859, Franz Xaver Winterhalter created a famous painting of the countess. A German portraitist, active in the 19th century.
