(1633 Emden – 1686 Amsterdam) attributed; Landscape with Travelers on a Path, a work characteristic of an artist who studied under Jan Asselijn in Amsterdam around 1650–1655 and then traveled through France, Germany, and Italy until 1659. Alongside Italianate landscapes, Frederik de Moucheron particularly depicted tree-rich landscapes with hunting parties and shepherds, whose figural compositions were often borrowed from such significant artists as Adriaen van de Velde, Nicolaes Berchem, and Johannes Lingelbach. Oil on canvas on stretcher; signed and with an indistinct date. 51.5 cm × 68.5 cm. In a frame.
