(1821 Stuttgart - 1885 Munich) Landscape with a rural idyll. A more freely executed landscape, painted with a vivid mood, demonstrates a style focused on overall harmony. It bears the influence of the works of the Hague School and the Barbizon School, especially the plein air painting of Charles-François Daubigny. The artist likely became acquainted with these influences during his visit to the Exposition Universelle in Paris in 1867 and trips to Holland in 1866 and 1870. Oil on canvas. Signed. Dimensions: 29.5 cm x 37.5 cm. In a frame. Provenance: Kunsthaus Bühler, Stuttgart.
