A young girl in peasant clothing and a white cap sits by a pond on a summer day, weaving an elegant wreath from red and white flowers. The drawing, executed in a bright, subtly shaded palette and striking lighting, is a cabinet piece by Campotostos firmly rooted in the tradition of his father, the Belgian genre painter Henri Campotostos (1833-1910). Oil on lining, doubled. Signed; 58.5 cm x 46 cm. Framed.
