(1610 Haarlem - 1688 ibid.) attributed; Joyful music-making and drinking society in an interior multifigure scene in a tavern with various bourgeois and rural figures, in the foreground a lute player, an elegant young man with a flute, and a singing young woman with a sheet of music. Motif and stylistically typical panel painting by the well-known genre painter, mostly active in Haarlem and Amsterdam, who had a preference for depicting cheerful societies. Among the numerous comparable works documented by the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam and the Mauritshuis in The Hague. Oil on oak panel. 41.5 cm x 58 cm. Frame.
