On both sides of the wall, framed alliance coat of arms of Count Heinrich von Brühl and his wife Franziska von Kolowrat-Krakowsky in shell cartouches. Polychrome painting with rich gold staffage. Possibly by Johann Gottlieb Ehder, 1742. Sword mark. H. 33 cm. 36 cm x 22 cm. After King August the Strong, Heinrich Graf von Brühl was the most important patron of the Meissen manufactory from 1747 as Prime Minister at the electoral court. Under August III, the Count was the decisive personality in the politics of Saxony. The so-called Swan Service, which received its current name only in the 19th century, is considered the largest and most extensive service in the porcelain history of the 18th century; it was designed by Johann Joachim Kaendler and modeled between 1737 and 1741 with the assistance of his colleagues Johann Friedrich Eberlein and Johann Gottlieb Ehder. Characteristic is the shell-shaped relief decor in connection with swans and herons as well as the design with fully plastic figures from the mythological sea world. The plastic decoration is completed by a fine Indian flower decor. Compare Pietzsch, Cat. Swan Service - Meissen Porcelain for Heinrich Graf von Brühl, p. 153, no. 20. A splendid lidded porcelain tureen with "Swan Service" decor and the alliance coat of arms of the Count of Brühl and his wife. Lid with figure of a nymph. Crossed swords mark. Meissen. After 2000.
