Ceramic (earthenware). Fully sculpted representation of a predatory bird sitting on a rocky-like base. Colorful painting and glaze embellishment. Model number 3168. Possibly designed by Emil Pottner in 1925. Impressed manufacturer's mark with "Made in Germany" and brush number 23 in blue. Height: 46 cm. Provenance: From the estate of a significant Northern German private collection. A German Karlsruhe glazed and painted earthenware figure of a predatory bird, probably modeled by Emil Pottner in 1925. Factory mark: Majolika-Manufaktur Karlsruhe. 1925 to around 1930.
