An allegorical genre painting by an English artist who belongs to the most famous, versatile, prolific, inventive, and sought-after painters of the Victorian era. Parrish studied at the Royal Academy from 1816, and from then until the end of his life, he was a frequent exhibitor at the Royal Academy and the British Institution. In 1832, he was appointed historical painter to Queen Adelaide. Oil on canvas, signed and dated 1840 (?). 85 cm x 85 cm. Framed.
