(1829 Osterkappeln near Osnabrück – 1908 Munich) The student Feinfüßig depicted, in a narrative style with sensitive characterization of figures, a student playing the flute in a courtyard next to a bird aviary, fruit and vegetable beds. This is a typical work by a Munich genre and history painter who studied at the Munich Academy under Philipp von Foltz and Josef Kehren in Düsseldorf. He created frescoes in the castles of Linderhof and Herrenchiemsee for King Ludwig II of Bavaria. Oil on wood panel. Signed. Original frame.
