

(1883 Bordeaux – 1973 or 1974 Aix-en-Provence) View of Toledo from the medieval Puente de San Martín bridge (German: Sankt-Martin-Brücke) over the Tagus. An impressionist cityscape by the artist, who studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Bordeaux and at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. From 1929 to 1958, he served as director of the École des Beaux-Arts in Bordeaux. Rogano traveled extensively and painted Italian, Spanish, North African, and Basque landscapes, as well as creating still lifes with flowers and female nudes. Oil on canvas; dimensions 50 cm x 55 cm.
