This subtly executed snapshot captures the essence of spring with its fragrant and airy atmosphere. Veit, a student of Ferdinand Laufberger, completed his training in Paris and has been a member of the Künstlerhaus in Vienna since 1890. He later taught at the renowned School of Applied Arts, where he was appointed professor in 1920. In 1896, Veit received a gold medal at the International Art Exhibition in Berlin. Watercolor and highlights on paper, mounted on cardboard. Signed and dated May 14, 1917. The title and location – Augsburg – are indicated on the reverse. Sheet size: 18 cm x 25.2 cm.
