Gise, who settled in Basel in 1833, created particularly watercolors with town views, which also served as templates for lithographs. Watercolor on paper, originally laid down by the artist on black paper with an architectural golden round arch. Signed and dated 1840. Image approximately 21 cm x 16.7 cm. Framed.
