"Mazzettino with a little monkey" from an Italian comedy
Description
On a rocaille pedestal with volutes, a rising rod is mounted, and a standing comic in a checkered suit with a white collar, wearing a yellow hat and a black mask, holding a small monkey in his hands. Polychrome painting with gold embellishments. Possibly Franz Anton Bustelli, circa 1760. Manufacturer's mark. Height 19 cm. Porcelain figurine of Mezzetino from the Commedia dell'arte. Manufacturer's mark. Nymphenburg. 20th century.
