Today, as in the mid-18th century, porcelain figurines of animals, people, flowers, and other subjects are handmade. The manufacturing technology involves creating items from "hard" and "soft" materials, which have different raw material compositions and undergo various firing regimes.

However, despite development and serial production, porcelain figurines are highly individual. Their creation involves not only a craftsman but also an artist who performs hand-painting with overglaze and underglaze paints.
