Description

From an Italian comedy, a gilded porcelain figurine of Isabella. Standing on a flat rocaille base, Isabella is dressed in a courtly gown, with her upper body slightly leaning forward and her head turned to the left. Possibly by Franz Anton Bustelli, circa 1759/1760. Restored. Factory mark. Height 19.5 cm. Cf. Ziffer, Bauml Collection catalog, no. 98; Bavarian National Museum, inventory number Ker 2137. Provenance: Princely Thurn and Taxis Collection at St. Emmeram Castle; offered at Sotheby's auction, Regensburg, 12.05.1993, lot 1932. Porcelain figurine of Isabella from the "Commedia dell'Arte." Provenance: collection of the Princely House of Thurn and Taxis, offered at Sotheby's auction in 1993, no. 1932. Restored. Factory mark. Nymphenburg. Circa 1760.
