Description

On a round, relief-flat pedestal stands a peasant woman in the traditional costume of Vierlande (Hamburg) with a chest ornament, a black hat, and a wide-brimmed straw hat. In both hands she holds a basket filled with plastic flowers, resting on her hip. Polychrome painting. Possibly by Hugo Spiller, circa 1897/98. Model number Q 190, see rest. Sword mark. Height 16 cm. From a series of 25 costume figures by the sculptor Hugo Spiller. Provenance: from the collection of a significant North German private collector.
