Description

Greece "from the series" Four Monarchies, depicted on a rocaille pedestal, stands a young military commander, Alexander the Great, in a majestic posture with his right hand raised, dressed in Roman attire with armor, a flowing cloak, and a helmet with feathers and a spiked crown. He is accompanied by a "four-headed panther" (or three-headed Cerberus). Possibly the work of Johann Joachim Kändler. Partially restored; minor crack; crossed swords mark. Height 21.5 cm.
