Description

Greece, from the "Four Monarchies" series, is depicted on a rocaille pedestal. A young military commander, Alexander the Great, stands in a majestic pose with his right hand raised, dressed in Roman attire with armor, a flowing cloak, and a feathered helmet with a spiked crown. He is accompanied by a "four-headed panther" (or three-headed Cerberus). Possibly the work of Johann Joachim Kändler. Partially restored; minor crack; crossed swords mark. Height 21.5 cm.
