(1872 Vienna - 1949 ibid.) Forest path with wayside shrine, peasant woman and goat on a sun-drenched meadow. This early work by Weber captures the play of light, a characteristic feature of his art. Weber, who studied at the Vienna Academy and regularly exhibited at the Vienna Künstlerhaus, settled in Spitz an der Donau around 1900, then in Stein an der Donau in 1921, and finally in Krems an der Donau in 1933. His oeuvre includes Austrian and Italian landscape motifs, including those from the Wachau region. Watercolour and gouache on paper, laid down on cardboard. Signed and dated 1899. Dimensions: 39.5 cm x 26 cm. Framed.
