(1793 Sunderland - 1867 Hampstead/London) Winter view of Waidbruck (Pont Garden) in South Tyrol with Trostburg Castle in the foreground, a carriage and figures in front of a bridge over the river Eisack. A drawing by Stanfield with the same motif was the inspiration for the titled graphics "Tronsberg," which appeared in 1832 in "Heath's Picturesque Annual for 1832" in London, or around 1840 in the volume "La Suisse et le Tyrol scenes de la vie des montagnes" by L. Janet in Paris. Oil on canvas; monogrammed "JD" on the carriage. 37 cm x 28 cm. Framed. Circle of Clarkson Stanfield (1793-1867). Oil on canvas. Monogrammed "JD" on the back of the carriage.
