Description

From the table service for Count Rothenburg, form "Antikzierat". Oval, curved body. Side branch handles and raised lid, with a central putto with a bundle of grapes as a knob. Magnificent decoration of native birds sitting on branches, as well as butterflies and insects in polychrome painting. The rim with a purple, gold-framed scale mosaic background. Scepter mark. H. 21 cm. L. 28 cm. A splendid porcelain tureen from the Count Rothenburg dinner set, finely painted with birds and insect decor. Sceptre mark. KPM-Berlin. Circa 1770.
