The academically trained artist Hans Kratzer (1874-1951) designed numerous hunting decorations for the Nymphenburg porcelain manufactory, as well as the Royal Table Service of Ludwig III of Bavaria. He sold the design for the "Bunte Jagd" decor to the manufactory in 1940, which was subsequently executed by the painting department. Kratzer's motifs are inspired by examples from the Rococo period. See Ziffer, Kat. Nymphenburger Moderne, p. 160ff., p. 442, Thieme-Becker, Vol. XXI, p. 436. A 16-piece porcelain part dinner set with hunting scenes after H. Kratzer. Manufacturer's mark.
