Description

On a naturalistic round base stands a shepherd in traditional clothing. In his left arm, he holds a little goat, while supporting himself with a stick in his right hand. The polychrome painting is adorned with gold staffage. Possibly by Hugo Spieler, around 1897/98. Model number Q 190 or similar. Restored; sword mark. Height: 16 cm. From a series of 25 costume figures by the sculptor Hugo Spieler. Provenance: From the estate of a significant private collection in northern Germany. A porcelain figure of a shepherd in traditional Brunswick costume. Restored. Crossed swords mark. Meissen, around 1898-1923.
