(1825 Mindelheim – 1895 Munich) On an alpine pasture before a monumental, snow-covered mountain mass, the summer alpine meadows are green with a hut, in front of which stands a milkmaid with a boy and her herd of cattle and sheep. Executed in delicate glazed painting, this is an extremely atmospheric mountain landscape created by Millner, who studied under Julius Lange in Munich and specialized in evocative landscapes of the Alpine region, for the study of which he conducted intensive research on site. Oil on canvas, relined. Signed. Illegible inscription with motif and information about the artist, place (Munich), and date (1885) on the reverse. 44 cm x 52 cm. In a frame.
