Alpine Mill: The Artist in Search of Motifs

(1845 Munich - 1929 ibid.) Water Mill in the Alps. Having studied at the Munich Academy from 1862, this artist primarily dedicated himself to Alpine landscapes, finding his motifs in Upper Bavaria, the Salzburg region and Salzkammergut, as well as in Tyrol. From 1884, he lived in Flintsbach am Inn in the Bavarian Prealps before returning to Munich. Oil on canvas. Signed and dated 1885. Restored, with minor paint losses. Dimensions: 102.5 cm x 80.5 cm.
