(1844 Warnkenhagen – 1924 Berlin) Dogs by the Fireplace: A characteristic painting by the well-known artist and painter, who specialized in vivid depictions of horses and dogs after studying at the Dresden and Berlin academies under the guidance of Carl Steffeck and Paul Friedrich Meyerheim. In 1893, he himself became a professor.

Oil on canvas; signed and dated; label of the court art dealer Honrath & van Baerle, Berlin, circa 1900, on the reverse. Dimensions: 33 cm x 24 cm. In a frame.
