(1846 Allstedt near Weimar – 1910 Munich-Pasing) Traute Together, a view of the kitchen area, with a girl sitting on a bench feeding a child on her lap. A romantic work by an artist who combines realistic figure depiction with an impressive atmosphere of light captured in an Impressionistic style in this cabinet painting. The artist studied at the art school in Weimar from 1866 to 1871, where he became a professor in 1882. In 1889, he moved to Munich and joined the local Secession in 1893. Piltz particularly enjoyed depicting rural and urban life with their traditional customs, festivals, and costumes. His strength lay in painting children. Oil on wood panel. Signed. 35 cm x 26.5 cm. Framed.
