(1867 Munich – 1939 Oberammergau) Sailing ships before the island of Hydra, executed in the late Impressionist style, with atmospherically resonant work by Dimers, who studied at the Munich Academy under Gabriel von Hackl and Alexander von Liezen-Mayer. From 1900, he turned to a new main theme and increasingly became a marine artist: he regularly participated in HAPAG cruises in the North Sea and the Mediterranean, using sketches and watercolors made during these trips as the basis for his studio works. Oil on canvas; signature; inscription on the reverse "In the Hydra Strait"; 58 cm x 76.5 cm. Original frame.
