(1851 Bietigheim/Württemberg - 1917 Karlsruhe) Surrounding fishermen in an atmospheric composition of a Venetian veduta, with numerous fishermen and their boats. The subject is executed in the style of the Karlsruhe artist Gustav Schönleber and may belong to one of his many students at the Grand Ducal Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe, where Schönleber taught from 1880 to 1917. Oil on canvas; illegibly signed, signed and dated; 64.5 cm x 84.3 cm. Framed.
