

(1815 Kemper – 1881 Algiers) attributed; Northern French fishing village. Through a vividly depicted figurative composition, a picturesque view is presented with effectively rendered plays of light. The artist, who studied in Brest and Paris, debuted in 1836 at the Salon and regularly participated in exhibitions from 1840 to 1879. Noël was particularly noted for his vedute, landscapes, and maritime motifs from Brittany and Normandy. Oil on canvas; 43 cm x 65 cm. Framed. Attributed to Jules Achille Noël (1815-1881).
