Original title: Portrait of a three-masted barque ship under the flag of Hamburg, with the company flag "W" and another flag bearing the number "145." Lorenz Petersen, the son of a sailor, was active in Altona from 1830, where he created numerous ship portraits for captains, owners, and shipowners. Until 1858, Peter Petersen painted his marine pictures independently, and from 1858 to 1869, he worked together with his half-brother Peter Christian Holm (1823-1888). Oil on canvas laid on masonite, signed and dated 1848. 47 cm x 64 cm. Framed.
