

(1909 Paris - 2006 Casablanca) "By the Banks of the Seine in Paris (/) Le Matin." Original title "View of the Seine at the Institut de France." This artwork depicts a late Impressionist view of Paris, executed with quick, broad, soft, and impasto brushstrokes in a light, pastel color palette. Anderbour first exhibited this work in 1937/38 at the Salon d'Automne in Paris; from 1953 to 1973 he collaborated with the renowned Durand-Ruel Gallery and held eleven solo exhibitions. In addition to Parisian motifs, he also depicted views and landscapes from other regions of France, Italy, Spain, and Morocco.
