Having studied at the Munich Academy since 1862, this artist mainly devoted himself to Alpine landscapes, finding his motifs in Upper Bavaria, the Salzburg region and Salzkammergut, as well as in Tyrol. From 1884, he lived in Flintsbach am Inn in the Bavarian foothills of the Alps before returning to Munich. Oil on canvas. Signed and dated 1885. Restored, with minor paint losses. Dimensions: 102.5 cm x 80.5 cm.
