Description

(1576 Mechelen - 1629 Amsterdam) After Christ's Entry into Jerusalem, copper engraving/paper, 1612. Schelte Adamsz. Bolswert (circa 1586 - 1659) participated in the engraving, published by Claes Janszoon Visscher (with the date 1634 indicated), text based on G. Rickius and with an additional mention of "P(e)ter Schenk junior excudit" and "No. 59". Likely a later 18th-century edition, published by Peter Schenk Jr. (1693 - 1775). Sheet 48.3 cm x 64.5 cm. 42 cm x 62.5 cm (cutout in mat). Copper engraving by Schelte Adamsz. Bolswert (circa 1586 - 1659) after David Vinckboons (1576 - 1629).
