

(1821 Bome – 1911 Paris) "Bragos Boats Returning". Original title: Fischerboote in der Lagune von Venedig, with a small depiction of a fisherman in the upper right corner. Cim was a member of the Barbizon School, debuted in 1849 at the Paris Salon, and was a regular participant in exhibitions. In 1860, Cim settled in the Montmartre art district. His favorite subject was Venice, which he traveled to annually from 1841 to 1892. Sepia-washed drawing on paper. Signed, inscribed, and dated 1874(?) below. Darkened. Dimensions: 19.8 cm x 28.2 cm (cut from the mat). Framed. Sepia wash on paper. Light spot stain. Title, inscription, and date 1874(?).
