"The Persian Empire throughout its provinces..." An original hand-colored copper engraving by Johann Baptist Homann, Nuremberg circa 1720. A detailed, framed, and regionally colored map shows modern-day Iran, Iraq, Syria, the Persian Gulf, the Caspian Sea, as well as parts of the Eastern Mediterranean with Cyprus and the Black Sea in the northeast. The allegorical title consists of an ornate cartouche featuring a leopard, love, and an image of Milenacher. Map size: 49.5 cm x 59 cm. Rahman.
