Haushofer is a master of the Chiemsee landscape.

Haushofer exhibited at the Munich Art Society and, from 1912, participated in the annual Munich exhibitions at the Glaspalast. In 1920, he was one of the co-founders of the art group "Die Frauenwörther," which has been exhibiting its works since 1921 at the Torhalle on Frauenchiemsee.
