Description

A compressed, spherical body with a curved, barely visible pierced lid, centrally adorned with a large grape-shaped handle. The body and lid are densely covered with plastic snowball flowers, individually crafted and intertwined with leafy branches. Polychrome painting. Gilded rim. Probably made by Johann Joachim Kändler. Miniature item. Damaged; blurred marked symbol of crossed swords. Height: 14 cm. See Jedding, Meissen Porcelain, fig. 151; Rueckert, Catalogue Bayer National Museum, nos. 606, 681. Porcelain box with lid and "Schneeballen" decoration. There are small chips. Blurred marked symbol of crossed swords. Meissen. Circa 1740–1745.
